Early Years Teacher Clare Patterson – Portland Road, Hove
My name is Clare Patterson and I have worked at Hopscotch since 1998. I am a qualified Early Years Teacher at our nursery in Portland Road, Hove and work with the pre-school children where my favourite activities are messy play and music. I spent the first four years at our Preston Park nursery before transferring to Portland Road in 2002. During my time at Hopscotch I have been responsible for providing a classroom that is warm and welcoming, with activities that inspire and stimulate both the children and adults. I have also guided and trained many trainee staff through their studies on their way to gaining their NVQ qualifications.
My name is Louise Penry. I joined Hopscotch in 2008 and I am the Early Years Teacher at our Peacehaven nursery. I have achieved my BA Degree in Professional Studies and Learning Development. In March 2010 I also achieved my Early Years Professional Status. I have attended many training courses over the years but more recently completed Makaton, Fire Marshall and Summative Assessment training.
My name is Lauren Brown and I joined Hopscotch in 2014. I am the Early Years Teacher at our Seaford Nursery and hold a First Class Honours Degree in Professional Studies in Primary Education and Qualified Teacher Status. I love to make the children’s play and learning as fun and creative as possible, for example, creating exciting and inviting outdoor maths opportunities. I also make story-telling fun with props and role-play.
My name is Christine Serna and I joined Hopscotch Hove Station in 2017. I have worked in Early Years for over 20 years, initially qualifying as a Montessori teacher, before moving to a pre-school. I have worked in a primary school heading up their nursery and in full day-care. I hold Early Years Teacher status and a 1st Class Honours Degree in Education & Training Studies.
I particularly enjoy extending children’s learning and supporting their problem solving skills. This supports their independence whilst laying the foundation of life skills and creating a love of learning ready for their school life.
In my own time I enjoy the company of my family and spend my time gardening, walking, DIY and learning how to upholster furniture.
