It has to Bee Hopscotch!

Posted on by Hopscotch Staff

At Hopscotch we feel it is beneficial to introduce ecological awareness into the children’s daily routines at a young age.  Some of the ways in which we do this are; providing organic milk and foods, bio-degradable nappies, recycling, encouraging healthly eating, composting and cultivating our own vegetable patches to grow produce to share together.

We became aware about the decline in bees in recent years and how this in turn effects our future and the future of the children at Hopscotch. This inspired us to spread the word and encourage our children, parents, family and friends to help play a part in encouraging bees back into our gardens, patios and countryside.  We have already started this by giving out 1000 free packets of wildflower seeds to all of our children to take home.

We have lots of fun Bee related activities happening at the nurseries over the next few weeks, these include educational visits from Bee Keepers, cooking and food tasting with honey, growing and caring for flowers in our nursery gardens and creative arts and crafts…… [slide]…watch this space for more news/photos.
