Preston Park Hopscotch – Latest Ofsted Report

Congratulations and well done to the Manager and staff team at Hopscotch Preston Park who received their unannounced Ofsted inspection on 22nd March 2011.
The quality of was judged overall as Good with Outstanding judgements in three areas: the Effectiveness with which the Setting Deploys Resources, the Effectiveness with which the Setting promotes Equality and Diversity and The Extent to which the Children make a Positive Contribution.
The inspectors stated that “the nursery is very effective at meeting children’s needs and pays close attention to every individual. Overall, children’s learning and development is ably supported. Leaders and managers have high expectations and self-evaluation provides an accurate diagnosis of the strengths of the setting and areas for improvement. They focus their activity on areas that will have most impact on children. This means their capacity for continuous improvement is good”.
“Children have a very warm and welcoming reception at the nursery. all staff take time to get to know a child’s individual needs and key workers take responsibility for ensuring the children are well settled and happy”
“Babies are cared for in warm and comfortable surroundings with lots of cuddles and affection”.
“The nursery’s resources are of a very high standard and they are effectively deployed”.
“Children make good progress in the nursery and are active and confident learners. Children behave in an exemplary fashion. They make strong friendships and play together showing high levels of negotiation and cooperation”.
