Astronomer Visits Hopscotch Seaford to launch World Space Week
5th October 2022
To celebrate World Space Week , and to launch the start of our Red Group’s new topic ‘Up, Up and Away’, we enjoyed the pleasure of astronomer Tatiana Wilson from Wealden Astronomers visiting our Seaford nursery on Monday.
She gave a fantastically interactive talk on the planets and used fruit to represent their different sizes. Each child got to be a planet, and they had fun orbiting the sun whilst keeping in the right order! They then had an engaging discussion on what the sun was made of and why Pluto is no longer classed as a planet
Thanks to Wealden Astronomers for an inspiring start to our Space Week. Red Group are also learning a space dance using hula hoops, which we’ll share with you all soon.
