Requirements
Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
Two relevant satisfactory references
Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate

General
To act as a Room Leader and taking responsibility for all aspects of care provided within that assigned room
To have exceptional knowledge of all children and their needs in order to oversee their development and provide support
To implement the nursery’s curriculum, the EYFS and be aware of any updates
To ensure all activities are age appropriate, stimulating and relevant to the EYFS and children’s specific learning objectives
To take ownership of the room so children have the best possible learning environments
To ensure displays showcase the nursery activities and are frequently updated to a high standard
To carry out the duties of a Key Person as per Ofsted’s definition
To work cohesively with the Nursery Management Team to prepare for Ofsted inspections
To ensure that the Hopscotch ethos is implemented in all areas of nursery life
To provide frequent updates to support to the Nursery Management Team
To manage and direct staff in line with Hopscotch policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, safe food preparation and allergen management
To support staff development through regular supervisions, peer on peer reviews, mentorship and CPD opportunities
To train new and existing staff in all aspects of observation planning and assessment
To work as part of a team with all staff members to keep the nursery evolving, improving and developing
To effectively monitor and support staff well-being and performance
To communicate effectively with parents and build a professional, trusting relationship
