Our Brighton Nursery Celebrates After Third Outstanding Ofsted Inspection
Hopscotch has once again been awarded Outstanding at its Preston Park location – the branch’s third consecutive Outstanding result following inspections in 2013 and 2015. A huge congratulations to the whole staff team on their dedication to the children and a well deserved award.
Inspectors commented: “The outstanding outcomes achieved are clearly attributable to the excellent staff monitoring, coaching and training systems in place. There is exceptionally high-quality teaching across the nursery. Leaders consistently reflect on practice and they are uncompromising in their ambition to maintain the continuous improvements.”
Hopscotch runs six nurseries across Sussex and has been awarded Outstanding at all 4 of its Brighton and Hove day nurseries.
Nursery Manager Serena Willingham commented: “We’re thrilled to have achieved an Outstanding accreditation once again for our nursery in Brighton. It’s a real confirmation of the hard work of the team, giving the children the best possible experience as they grow, develop and prepare for life before school. Our amazing staff, parents and children are all part of this achievement, as are the facilities and services on offer here at Hopscotch Brighton such as our Imagination Playground.”
Ofsted ratings for nurseries are a valuable indicator for parents wishing to choose the right nursery for their child. The reporting informs on:
- The quality of teaching and therefore the nursery’s ability to facilitate learning and development for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.
- The nursery’s ability to support and safeguard a child’s wellbeing.
- The capability of management to lead nursery staff in fulfilling the Statutory Requirements as defined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Hopscotch Preston Park achieved an Outstanding accreditation across all areas of the inspection. Commenting on the nursery’s support for children of all backgrounds and capabilities, the report added: “Management and staff meticulously monitor children’s progress over time. They swiftly put plans in place to rapidly close gaps in learning so that children continue to achieve excellent outcomes. All children, including those receiving additional funding, make consistently high rates of progress from their starting points in preparation for school.”
