We welcome you to book a visit to Hopscotch Peacehaven today.
Our children are supported to become confident learners and independent thinkers with a wide variety of activities to challenge and stimulate them physically and cognitively, helping them to grow and develop in a happy, safe and secure environment. By coming to our nursery children will develop their social skills and make lots of friends too.
We also run weekly Spanish lessons for our older children, delivered by specialist visiting teachers.

Our catering extends to a number of dietary requirements including vegetarian, dairy free, sugar free and no pork meal options. Hopscotch Peacehaven has received a national ‘Outstanding Food Award’ for our quality and commitment to children’s food and nutrition as part of the Healthy Active Little Ones (HALO) – East Sussex programme, funded by East Sussex County Council Public Health. This has been certified by the Children’s Food Trust, the leading experts in children’s food. The Children’s Food Trust is on a mission to get every child eating well and believe that children do well when they eat well. We share this belief, so we are making sure the food we provide at our nursery gives children the energy and nutrition they need to fulfil their potential. We hope that you share our enthusiasm for the Award and will see the benefits good food brings in helping your children to grow, play and learn.
Our large and spacious rooms provide a stimulating environment which offers the activities and experiences children need to grow and develop in all areas:
All of our rooms are furnished to high standard with Community Playthings wooden equipment.

The individual needs of the child can be met by planning strategies and targets using the IEP and the advice of a specialist support team and other professionals involved in their support. This can be explained further by our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator. The SENDco will work with the Key Person to oversee the IEP targets for your child, as well as seeking support when needed from other practitioners to ensure provision is relevant and appropriate. Please see our Local Offer in full for more information.
We are located just off the main A259 South Coast Road, within easy reach of Brighton and easy access to the No 12 bus route.
My name is Tracy Nye and I have been the Nursery Manager since 2007. I have worked in childcare for the past 25 years and also have two grown up children of my own. I studied at Brighton University to complete my BA Honours degree in Professional Studies in Learning and Development. I enjoy both sides of childcare being with the children and ensuring my setting runs smoothly, offering support and knowledge to my staff team within the nursery and also helping them in their professional development.
My name is Nicola Mockford and I joined Hopscotch in 2013. I have worked in childcare for many years with experience in all age groups. I hold an CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, as well as First Aid and SENDCo and currently studying for a Certificate in Management.
My favourite time at nursery is spent being creative with the children, enjoying messy activities. I love singing time teaching the children new songs.
