Nurturing Happy, Independent Children for Over 38 Years
Hopscotch Seaford is a spacious day nursery in the heart of Seaford set within a converted school building, offering a warm and welcoming environment for children aged 0 to 5.
Opened in 2001 by the same Brighton-based family who still run all Hopscotch nurseries today, Seaford is one of the longest-established nurseries in the town and has been supporting local families for over 20 years. That longevity shows in the strong reputation the nursery has built within the Seaford community.
Ofsted Rated Good
At our most recent inspection in 2025, Hopscotch Seaford was rated Good in all areas.
For families looking for a nursery in Seaford, this means a setting where care, teaching and leadership are consistently strong. You can read our latest Ofsted report to find out more.
A Spacious Setting Designed for Learning
The nursery’s layout provides large, airy rooms that support children at every stage of their development.
Each space is well resourced and thoughtfully set up, with high-quality wooden equipment that encourages open-ended play. The literacy room offers a calm, focused space where preschool children can build early reading, writing and school readiness skills.
A Calm and Balanced Day at Seaford
At Hopscotch, childhood isn’t rushed.
Days at Seaford follow a natural rhythm, with time for both guided activities and free exploration. Children move between indoor and outdoor play, building confidence as they try new things and follow their interests.
Our team support each child in a steady, thoughtful way, helping them feel settled while encouraging independence.
Outdoor Play and Exploration
Our large garden is a key part of daily life at Seaford.
Children take part in a range of activities including construction play, messy play, simple science experiments and bug hunts. Two separate activity areas encourage independence and give children the freedom to choose how they spend their time outdoors.
A wooden climbing frame supports physical development and coordination, and the space offers something for every child, whatever their mood or interests.
Connected to the Seaford Community
Being based in Seaford gives children regular opportunities to explore beyond the nursery.
Trips to the seaside and visits to local events, such as the French market, help children build a connection to their surroundings while learning about the world around them.
Fresh, Flexible and Nutritious Mealtimes
We partner with Little Tums to provide balanced meals that cater to a wide range of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free options.
Parents can choose to add hot lunches and teas, or provide a packed lunch from home, depending on what works best for their family.
Learning Beyond the Nursery Walls
At Hopscotch, we believe outdoor experiences are a great way to inspire young minds.
Through our Hopscotch Explorers programme, children take part in regular outings to local beaches, parks and nature spots. These experiences encourage curiosity, build confidence and support hands-on learning outdoors.
