Nurturing Happy, Independent Children for Over 38 Years
Hopscotch Worthing Central is a day nursery in the heart of Worthing, just a short walk from Worthing train station.
We provide childcare for babies, toddlers and pre schoolers aged 0 to 5 in a welcoming, well-resourced setting.
As one of a small number of independent nurseries in Worthing, Hopscotch Worthing Central brings the same independent family-run values that have shaped our nurseries across Brighton, Hove and Sussex since 1988. The same approach to care, the same investment in people and spaces, and the same belief that childhood shouldn’t be rushed.
Ofsted Rated Strong
Hopscotch Worthing Central was inspected by Ofsted in March 2026 and awarded a ‘Strong’ rating across all areas under the new inspection framework. What families can expect
Every child at Worthing has a key person who takes time to understand their routines, personality and needs. Our team provide the kind of consistent, personal care that helps children settle quickly and build real confidence.
We run lower ratios than required for our 2 to 3 year olds, with one adult to every four children. That means more time, more attention and stronger bonds. It's something we do across every Hopscotch nursery because we believe it makes a genuine difference.
Parents stay connected through Famly, where you'll get daily updates on meals, naps, activities and photos of your child's day.
Growing in Confidence Every Day
At Hopscotch, childhood isn’t rushed.
Each day at our Worthing nursery is shaped around helping children feel comfortable and ready to explore. Through a mix of play, routine and new experiences, children are supported as they settle into nursery life and begin to build key skills.
Our team provide gentle guidance throughout the day, helping children develop at their own pace.
Outdoor Play and Exploration
Our outdoor space has been designed to encourage active play and exploration.
Children have access to a range of equipment and natural play opportunities, supporting both physical development and imaginative play.
Learning Beyond the Nursery Walls
We believe that learning happens everywhere, including in natural spaces.
Through our Hopscotch Explorers programme, children take part in trips to local beaches, parks and green spaces around Worthing. These experiences help build confidence, curiosity and a connection to the world around them.
Fresh, Flexible and Nutritious Mealtimes
We partner with Little Tums to provide balanced meals that cater to a range of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free options.
Parents can choose to add hot lunches and teas, or provide a packed lunch from home.
Funded Childcare Places Available
Hopscotch Worthing Central accepts 15 and 30 hours of government-funded childcare.
