Nurturing Happy and Independent Children for 38 years
Our wonderful Seven Dials nursery is located opposite St Ann’s Wells Gardens and looks out onto the green space the park has to offer. We often see squirrels and of course lots of dogs out for walks!
We offer full-day childcare for babies, toddlers and preschoolers aged 0-5 throughout the year. Our Nursery Manager Vanessa is knowledgeable and reassuring and will always have your child’s best interests in mind.
Ofsted Rafted Outstanding
Hopscotch Seven Dials has been awarded its fourth consecutive Outstanding judgement by Ofsted, following the latest inspection in March 2025. The nursery has now held Outstanding status for over a decade, ever since it was first registered with Ofsted in 2012 – a remarkable achievement that reflects the team’s consistent dedication to delivering exceptional early years care.

‘A day in the life’ at Hopscotch
At Hopscotch children learn, play and smile every day and caring for children is at the heart of everything we do. Located in a detached former home in a quiet residential street in central Hove, our nursery is warm, comfortable and inviting and the perfect home from home environment.
Outdoor Space
Our garden has recently been completely transformed to create even more space for outdoor play and learning. A covered sensory area with an outdoor sink makes it easy for practitioners to take activities outside in all weathers, while moveable equipment gives children the freedom to enjoy obstacle courses, parachute games, balance bike sessions and active play. The garden also features a mud kitchen, water and sand play, a painting station and loose parts that encourage children to build, climb, balance and challenge themselves through imaginative, hands-on play.
Indoor Space
Located in a detached former home our nursery is warm, comfortable and inviting - with soft carpets, calming environments and cosy corners for every age group. Upstairs we have a glow in the dark sensory space room where children can relax and reflect and downstairs there is a two-level soft playroom with a ball pool and slide - perfect for energetic children who need to let off steam and bounce around.
Our extension has created a dedicated base room for our 2 to 3-year-olds, allowing us to welcome more families from our local community after many years of having a waiting list. The thoughtfully designed space gives children the room to explore, play and learn in an environment tailored to their stage of development, while enabling us to meet the growing demand for places.
Hopscotch Explorers!
Our Hopscotch Explorers programme was developed at Hopscotch Seven Dials. The nursery has the perfect location to pioneer our outside focused curriculum with an emphasis on woodland learning in winter and beach activities in summer.
Award Winning Catering
Offering standard, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, sugar free and no pork meal options, our Seven Dials nursery offers award winning catering by Little Tums. Parents can choose to add hot lunches and teas for nutritionally well-balanced meals or alternatively we will happily serve packed lunches from home.

I enjoy walking on the wild side, taking part in everything from white-water rafting and zip-lining through jungles to firewalking.
