Nurturing Happy, Independent Children for Over 38 Years
Hopscotch Peacehaven is an Ofsted Outstanding day nursery in Peacehaven, supporting children aged 0 to 5 in a warm and welcoming setting.
Part of the Hopscotch family, an independent nursery group founded in Brighton in 1988, the Peacehaven nursery has supported local families for over 30 years. That longevity shows in the strong reputation it has built for care, consistency and a friendly, supportive environment where children settle and thrive.
Ofsted Outstanding, twice in a row
In August 2022, Hopscotch Peacehaven was awarded its second consecutive Ofsted Outstanding rating, the only nursery in Peacehaven to currently achieve this.
This reflects the high standards of care, teaching and leadership across the nursery, and the team’s ongoing commitment to providing a nurturing and engaging environment.

At Peacehaven, we focus on creating a space where children feel secure, valued and ready to take part in the day.
Our team work closely with families to support each child’s development, offering reassurance and consistency throughout their early years. Every child has a key person who builds a genuine relationship with them and with you.
A Supportive Start to Each Day
At Hopscotch, childhood isn’t rushed.
Each day begins with a warm welcome that helps children feel settled and ready to take part. Through play, routine and gentle guidance, children build confidence and form strong relationships with both staff and their peers.
The focus is on creating a calm and positive atmosphere where children feel supported as they learn and grow.
Active Play Indoors
Our soft play room gives children the opportunity to climb, slide and move freely in a safe and well-supervised space.
This helps build confidence, coordination and social interaction through shared play.
An outdoor space designed for every kind of play
Our garden is well equipped with climbing frames, a mud area, a sand pit and an outdoor reading space. It’s one of the things families at our Peacehaven nursery mention most. Children have plenty of opportunities to explore, be active and enjoy being outside in every season.
Learning Beyond the Nursery Walls
Through our Hopscotch Explorers programme, children take part in regular trips to Peacehaven Beach, the South Downs and nature spots along the South Downs Way..
These outings help build curiosity, confidence and an appreciation for the outdoors.
Fresh, Flexible and Nutritious Mealtimes
We partner with Little Tums to provide balanced meals using fresh ingredients, with options to suit a wide range of dietary needs.
Parents can choose to add hot lunches and teas, or provide a packed lunch from home.
Funded Childcare Places Available
Hopscotch Peacehaven accepts 15 and 30 hours of government-funded childcare.
