It is designed to encourage early years practitioners to improve quality through information gathering, action planning, implementation, evaluation and moderation. Hopscotch has been awarded many Credits over the years in all areas. We are now working towards QuILT Gold which allows us to show how we are providing an exceptional learning environment.
We have a passionate and long standing team of practitioners, who work in partnership with parents, to create an exciting, fun and educational learning environment. Clare, our Early Years Teacher, and her team offer a variety of challenging, interesting activities, which are led by the children and their unique individual needs. Our learning environment is created by our children, for our children. Children learn through play at their own pace, using the framework of the EYFS curriculum. This allows us to enhance upon the foundation for learning and future development. Our baby room creates a calm, nurturing atmosphere with soft lighting, music, aromas and cosy area. The environment is specially designed to promote babies physical and emotional well being. Encouraging babies to express themselves through messy, sensory and exploratory play, where they are valued and respected. We pride ourselves on our quality of care, using effective communication to work in partnership with parents.
As a team we value learning and believe in nurturing our children’s potential, and achievements. In a safe, clean, healthy environment, we are able to build on children’s self esteem, confidence and sense of self. At the nursery we provide breakfast, organic milk and snacks for the children and we recycle as much as we can. We think it’s important to involve the children in environmental topics and encourage them with activities and discussion.
We have been awarded Outstanding in all areas in 2015. See our latest – Outstanding Ofsted Inspection Report

Our West Hove nursery has an outside play area, five large, bright and spacious nursery rooms including a large indoor two-level softplay room. Our children love to burn off energy each session climbing the steps, whizzing down the slide into the ballpool, rocking on our giant see-saw or building with our large softblocks. All of our rooms are furnished to a high standard with Community Playthings wooden equipment.
The baby room has a calm, nurturing atmosphere with soft lighting, music, aromas and a cosy area. It also has its own specialist equipment for babies to develop their physical skills when starting to crawl and walk, creating a stimulating environment for our youngest children.
Our older children enjoy our sensory room which is equipped with soft flooring, lights and music and have the opportunities to explore different smells, sounds and textures.
