Dame Julia Donaldson DBE Opens Hopscotch Library at West Hove

Children at Hopscotch West Hove enjoyed a truly unforgettable morning as beloved children's author Dame Julia Donaldson DBE officially opened the Hopscotch library at West Hove.

There was a real buzz in the nursery as Dame Julia arrived to cut the ribbon with a pair of giant golden scissors and officially open the library for our children.

Afterwards, the children gathered for a very special story time with one of their favourite authors. Dame Julia read The Gruffalo and brought A Squash and a Squeeze to life, with lots of help from some very enthusiastic young storytellers.

Dame Julia's visit was made possible thanks to the Amaze Story Trail. This autumn, the trail will bring together beautifully designed BookBenches across Brighton & Hove to celebrate stories, creativity and imagination. We're proud to be sponsoring the Learner Programme, and children across our nurseries are currently busy decorating their own nursery BookBenches, which will form part of the trail for families and the wider community to enjoy.

We would like to thank Dame Julia Donaldson DBE and the team at Amaze Story Trail for making the morning possible. The children had a wonderful time, and it is a memory we are sure they will be talking about for years to come.
