We’re delighted to share that Hopscotch Seven Dials has once again been rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, following a recent inspection in March 2025.

This is the fourth consecutive Outstanding rating for the Seven Dials nursery – a clear reflection of the team's consistent dedication to high-quality, child-first care. It also marks the fourth Outstanding result across the Hopscotch group in just three years, following recent top ratings for Preston Park, Hove Station and Peacehaven.

What Ofsted Highlighted

Inspectors praised the Seven Dials team for their inspiring practice, strong values and nurturing environment. Key comments from the report included:

  • “Children are inspired and highly motivated to learn as they fully immerse themselves in a rich and varied curriculum.”
  • “Children with SEND make excellent progress because staff develop a highly individualised programme that is fully inclusive.”
  • “Children are curious, confident and demonstrate a remarkable awareness of the diverse world in which they live.”
  • “Children have tremendous fun at this nursery and the sound of laughter echoes throughout.”

The report also noted the nursery’s emphasis on outdoor learning, inclusivity, and environmental awareness – areas that are integral to the Hopscotch approach.

Excellence Rooted in Independence

Hopscotch remains Sussex’s largest independently owned nursery group, caring for over 700 children each year across seven settings. Since we began in 1988, we’ve focused on delivering play-based, purposeful learning in environments where children feel safe, confident and supported.

A Note of Thanks

This latest Outstanding rating is the result of sustained effort and commitment from the Seven Dials team. Their work continues to raise the standard of early years care and create meaningful experiences for children every day.

We’d also like to thank our families for their ongoing support and trust – it’s a privilege to play a part in your children’s early years journey.
