We were delighted to welcome much-loved children’s author and illustrator, Nick Sharratt, to our Preston Park nursery for a very special visit.

Nick spent time chatting with the children and sharing some of their favourite stories, along with a few brand-new ones. The storytelling was interactive and full of energy, with the children joining in throughout. They imagined themselves as trees swaying in the wind, looked high and low through a telescope and even had a go at baa-ing like sheep. There was lots of laughter and excitement from start to finish.

The children then enjoyed getting creative as Nick showed them how to draw different animals step by step. Using an easel at the front, he demonstrated each stage while the children followed along. The room was full of happy chatter as they created smiling snails, huge elephants and their favourite, a shark. Each drawing was unique, and the children were so proud to share their work with Nick.

It was a lovely morning that encouraged creativity, confidence and imagination in every child.

A big thank you to Nick Sharratt for taking the time to visit us and make the experience so memorable.
