Something new is coming to Brighton: Hopscotch Art Space

We’ve been busy creating something a little different at Hopscotch, and we’re very excited to finally be able to share it with you.

What was once a café on Gloucester Road has been given a new lease of life. We started with a blank canvas, added plenty of colour, filled the shelves with art supplies and created a space where children can come and simply enjoy being creative.

Welcome to Hopscotch Art Space.

It’s a completely free, drop-in creative space for children and their grown-ups to paint, draw, make, explore, experiment and see where their imaginations take them.

We know how important creativity is for children, but we also know that finding the time, space (and all the supplies!) to get creative at home isn’t always easy. So, we wanted to create somewhere families could come together, try something new and enjoy making without worrying about the mess.

And you don’t need to be part of a Hopscotch nursery to come along. Hopscotch Art Space is for families across Brighton and the wider community, and is recommended for families with children up to the age of 11.

We’re opening our doors on Saturday 15th August from 11am, and we have a very special guest joining us.

Much-loved author and illustrator Nick Sharratt will be helping us officially open Hopscotch Art Space and will be with us until 12pm. You’ll also be able to buy copies of Nick’s books and have them signed.

Can’t make the opening? Come and see us another day. We’ll be open at weekends throughout August, with weekday opening coming in September too.
